Insurance Business Analyst

Accommodation is available upon request for candidates taking part in the selection process. ***Hybrid role - must be located in Alpharetta, GA or Halifax, NS*** The Business Analyst is ultimately responsible for the facilitation and elicitation of requirements and documentation of those requirements for a specific project initiative. The Business Analyst creates/defines the business and functional requirements. The Business Analyst reviews test plans and verifies system functionality delivered for the project. Responsibilities: - Lead the capture, review, and update business requirements
- Produce deliverables based on IT Lead and SME guidance
- Capture business capability matrix, detailed requirements, user stories, business rules, etc.
- Create communication and training materials, as needed
- Enforce Business Analysis standards, templates, and processes
- Support the delivery of the Business Architecture by partnering with stakeholders and functional lead(s) to identify business process issues and capability needs
- Liaise between technical and non-technical resource team members to answer day to day business questions either directly or indirectly as supported by the Business Leads and SMEs
- Conduct walkthroughs with project team members and business leads
- Understand and manage to defined project scope
- Work with QA and Business SMEs (UAT) to ensure requirements traceability and coverage within test cases
- Promote change management principles with executives, senior leaders, managers, and supervisors to influence, build relationships, and manage resistance
- Provide support during end user training, prior to production deployments, and post production deployment, as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Science preferred
- 5+ years of Business Analysis experience preferred
- 3+ years of Commercial / Specialty Insurance industry experience preferred
- 3+ years of Duck Creek Policy (or similar PAS systems) experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft platforms including Microsoft Dynamics and SharePoint preferred
- 1+ years of Structured Query Language (SQL) experience preferred
- Proficiency with software/systems commonly used to manage Programs/Projects (MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, TFS, Azure DevOps, JIRA)
- Experience with Reinsurance is a plus
- Experience developing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process diagrams, storyboards, use cases, and presentations
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in person and remotely
- Dedicated and detail oriented
- Collaborative and conscientious team player
- Excellent Analytical skills
For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of 90k - 105k (GA). The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location. In addition, all employees are eligible for competitive incentive targets, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
