(Senior) AI Engineer - all genders -

At ellamind, we are developing a groundbreaking platform that enables companies to improve AI applications more quickly and use them more efficiently to automate their processes. As an AI Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, optimization, and integration of our AI models. Your responsibilities include:

• Development and fine-tuning of LLM-based applications, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation of model performance.
• Implementation of RAG systems (Retrieval Augmented Generation) and optimization of vector indices for efficient information retrieval.
• Integration of AI models into our platform using Django Ninja (FastAPI-style API endpoints) in the backend and Next.JS in the frontend.
• Development and implementation of monitoring systems to track model quality, biases, and performance metrics.
• Design and implementation of user interfaces that make complex AI functionalities accessible and intuitive to use.
• Automation and optimization of AI workflows through pipeline development and model orchestration.
• Exploration of innovative approaches in the field of multimodal AI systems (text, image, audio) and their integration into our platform.

• You have a degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field, and/or can demonstrate comparable skills through personal projects or professional experience - we value not the length of experience, but the outstanding quality of your work that you have repeatedly demonstrated throughout your career and/or projects.
• You have solid knowledge of Python and experience with ML/AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Langchain, LlamaIndex, or similar.
• You have practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, Claude, or open-source alternatives and understand the technical foundations behind these models.
• You are familiar with modern AI development practices such as prompt engineering, RAG systems, and evaluation of AI models.
• Ideally, you have experience with web technologies such as React/Next.JS and backend frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
• You are passionate about AI and its applications in software development and are a genuine problem solver.
• You are fluent in English (minimum B2 level); fluency in German is a Plus.
• You are willing to work at least 3 days/week on-site at our Bremen office (with the perspective of transitioning to our planned Berlin office in midterm).
• You have EU work authorization.
