JOB TITLE: People Solutions Generalist

FUNCTION: People Solutions

REPORTS TO: Director of People Solutions

Role Purpose

The People Solutions Generalist performs HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Director of People Solutions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: HRIS, onboarding, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities :

  • Serves as subject matter expert and provide ongoing maintenance and administration for the HRIS database (ADP Work Force Now).
  • Conducts HR audits to ensure stores are in Federal and State compliance regarding HR processes, regulations and other general guidelines.
  • Assist in the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Coordinate or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Coordinates new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • Frequent travel may be required to conduct on-site investigations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; including V look-up, and pivot tables
  • Excellent relationship management skills (effective communication, listening conflict resolution).
  • The successful individual will be positive, proactive and flexible, and must possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple assignments/tasks simultaneously.
  • Must have a high level of confidentiality.
  • A degree in Human Resources or Business is preferred.
  • Adept at working in a very high paced environment with taut timelines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms, with the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Also may require bending and lifting while maintaining files.

Educational Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in human resource management is preferred;
  • OR one to two years' experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
