Job Description



AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Manager / HVAC Department for our Atlanta, Georgia office. Working with other members on developing High Performance HVAC designs for clients around the world. Hybrid (2 days onsite – Midtown, Atlanta)

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage team of mechanical engineers (HVAC & Plumbing)
  • Mechanical and Plumbing design proposal development
  • Ensure teams produce high quality designs on time and budget.
  • Work with teams outside of eastern time zone on projects
  • Design of mechanical systems for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems including engineering related calculations and development of drawings.
  • Develop system narratives
  • Review / Edit Specifications
  • QA/QC of Mechanical designs
  • Travel with team on site walks (design and construction phase) to gather data.
  • Write professional basis of design reports
  • Work with architects, other engineering disciplines, and clients
  • Present design options to clients

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering + eight (8) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + ten (10) years of related experience and skills in mechanical systems building design, project management, and team leadership
  • Registered professional engineer (PE)
  • Ten (10) plus years experience with Mechanical/HVAC systems for federal, corporate, and commercial

Preferred

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of related HVAC design
  • Prior management experience
  • Design/Build experience
  • Energy Modeling (e.g. Trane Trace, IES, EnergyPlus, etc.) - Six (6) years minimum for one.
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience - 4 years experience minimum for each
