We at Cowan Green Street ACE Hardware in Conyers are looking for an Upbeat Positive employee for Sales Associate/Parts Counter in our Lawn and Garden Power Equipment Department that will Uphold the Core Values. Must have mechanical knowledge, be familiar with products in a hardware store and willing to work.

Reports to Floor Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Store Lead

Primary responsibility for Sales Associate is to provide the best possible experience for Every Customer, Every Time by being helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Floor associates are responsible for engaging the customer, determining their needs and projecting requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist and sale Lawn and Garden Power Equipment and Repair Parts
• Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise (as arranged by management). Maintain the departments by keeping clean, organized and fully stocked.
• Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by Store Lead and store management. Move with a sense of urgency while paying attention to the details.
• Learn ACE software systems in a timely manor
• Have a working knowledge of Stihl, Exmark and Toro Power Equipment
• Be able to start and service all new Power Equipment before leaving store including but not limited to Zero Turn, Stihl Chainsaws and Concrete saws.
• Handle special orders for all non-stock items.
• Serve Customers storewide, and provide needed advice or information, greet customers as soon as you encounter them.
• Assist Customers with simple complaints/concerns ; get a manager involved with problems as needed.
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisement so you can tell customers about special sales.
• Assist customers loading their vehicles with large or heavy items as needed.
• Complete classes as assigned on ACE Learning Place in order to have a better understanding of all products.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members. with a calm and friendly personality.
• Great computer skills
• Mechanical knowledge
• Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
• Strong organizational skills with a passion for details.
• Willing to learn all areas of the store.
• Knowledge and experience of various departments in Hardware store
• A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
• Availability must be flexible including Saturdays, Evenings, and holidays.
• Bilingual is a plus but not a requirement.
• Have a working knowledge of Stihl, Exmark and Toro Power Equipment

Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties.

• Move and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds, and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth.

Operating hours are 7:30am to 7:00pm. Must be able to work all Saturdays and every third Sunday
