Manufacturing Engineer (Gainesville)
TRC is currently partnering with a global manufacturer located in Gainesville GA that is recognized for innovation but also known for stability and has a long-standing reputation back by over a century of success. The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. This role leads process design efforts, supports new product launches, and drives continuous improvement initiatives aligned with established production system principles. The role will sit 100% onsite in Gainesville.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes with a primary emphasis on operator safety, efficiency, and product quality
• Research, specify, and implement manufacturing equipment in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors
• Apply poka-yoke (error-proofing) and robust process design to ensure consistent product quality and reduce defects
• Analyze workflow, space utilization, and equipment layouts to improve productivity and throughput
• Lead and manage project activities for new programs and process changes, including timelines, budgets, vendor coordination, and implementation
• Evaluate production, labor, and material costs to support manufacturing decisions and future planning
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process standards and tooling/fixture designs
• Support production through process improvements, Kaizen events, and troubleshooting to meet operational targets
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to establish and implement preventative maintenance plans
• Utilize CAD tools to design tooling, fixtures, and layouts
• Lead technology implementation efforts, including installation, training, and documentation
• Train technicians and operators on new or revised processes
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards
• Support cross-functional teams as needed to meet business objectives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
• Experience solving complex manufacturing problems with strong analytical skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, including presenting technical information
• Experience with manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar systems
• Exposure to automation and/or Industry 4.0 technologies preferred
• Experience managing projects including timelines, budgets, and coordination
