W2 only no C2C Department: Information Technology Service Area: IT Billing & Commissions Job Role : Technical Release Engineer (Developer) Contract terms : 12 Months Contract-to-Hire Conversion Salary (if applicable) : $Dev 4 or 5 depending on experience and performance as contractor Location : Remote The IT Billings and Commissions team is seeking a contractor who can perform the role of a technical release engineer (JAVA). Works with a team of Java developers to create, maintain, and support applications that support our IT and business partners Key Responsibilities: Manage Release Processes : Oversee the end-to-end release processes, ensuring that software applications,services and integrations are built, coordinated, and deployed efficiently and correctly. Collaboration : Work closely with development, QA, and systems administration teams to streamline the release pipeline and resolve deployment issues or conflicts. Automation : Design and implement solutions to automate or streamline the release process, improving the quality and speed of software deliver Documentation : Maintain clear documentation of release processes, configurations, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance. Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve issues related to software builds and deployments, providing support to development teams as needed. Development : Lead and participate in code review/peer review, provide design guidance and knowledge share with the development team, take on Java development work as necessary. Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience : Proven experience in release engineering or a similar role, with a strong understanding of software development life cycles. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Java development and Maven, experience with version control systems (e.g., Git & GitHub), and familiarity with build tools and CI/CD technologies (QuickBuild). Experience with NPM/Angular is desired. Experience working with SQL Server database systems. Experience writing and troubleshooting SQL. Experience with Liquibase is nice to have. Soft Skills : Excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong problem solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
