Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Progress Container, a TRG (The Royal Group) company and affiliate of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Machine Operator - 2nd Shift to support our Winder, GA facility! The Machine Operator - 2nd Shift operates any number of machines including but not limited to gluer, flexo, band saw, flatbed die cutter, and labeling machine.

Essential Job Functions For This Position:

• Operate given machine efficiently within safety guidelines of company.
• Manually set up given machine following factory ticket and confirm accuracy of order prior to running.
• Report any safety or maintenance related issues.
• Set up feed, printing, and die cutter stations.
• Assist in mounting cutting dies occasionally.
• Flag orders to other operations or shipping.
• Utilizes automatic conveyor system.
• Operate machine to automatically unitize products.
• Lifts heavy objects, up to 70lbs by hand and cleans work area. Note: any objects over 50lbs will be handled by two members.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Make impression and manual adjustments; does quality checks.
• Performs preventative maintenance which include: rotating die cut blankets and replacing drum inserts.
• Reports production in system.
• Perform machine cleanup daily, weekly, monthly.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Required Education / Experience:

• High school diploma or GED; plus one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience desirable.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to add, to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to use tape measure; and to use a computer.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to use tape measure.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
