What You'll Do
As the Import Operations Coordinator, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for import customers and manage the end-to-end import process while delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage import shipments from booking through final delivery
- Coordinate transportation, customs clearance, and documentation requirements
- Communicate with customs brokers, trucking providers, airlines, steamship lines, and freight partners
- Negotiate rates and coordinate shipment bookings when applicable
- Process and distribute Bills of Lading, collect charges, and shipment documentation
- Generate delivery orders and arrange transportation services
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, billing, and collections activities
- Monitor shipment status, perform shipment tracing, and proactively resolve delivery issues
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and shipment updates
- Build strong relationships with customers and logistics partners through professional communication
- Maintain accurate shipment records within CargoWise and other transportation management systems
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, import operations, or logistics coordination
- Hands-on experience managing import shipments and customs documentation
- Proficiency with CargoWise One (required)
- Strong working knowledge of international transportation carriers, routing, and logistics networks
- Experience working within a paperless, TMS-driven environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Additional Requirements
