Job Description

Field Operations Manager / Construction Superintendent

About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing residential construction company specializing in custom decks, porches, and outdoor living spaces is seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead day-to-day field operations and help scale the business through its next stage of growth.

This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for managing multiple active job sites, leading field crews, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining the quality standards that have fueled the company's success.

The organization has experienced significant growth through referrals and reputation alone and is positioned for continued expansion. This role will serve as the critical bridge between company leadership and field operations, allowing the business to scale efficiently while maintaining outstanding craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a bilingual construction leader who can earn the respect of crews, build trust with homeowners, solve problems in real time, and take ownership of project outcomes.

Position Summary

The Field Operations Manager serves as the operational link between company leadership and field crews. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple residential construction projects simultaneously, ensuring crews have the direction, materials, and support necessary to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Success in this position requires strong construction knowledge, excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead through influence rather than authority alone.

Approximately 90% of time will be spent in the field visiting active job sites throughout the Metro Atlanta area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support multiple construction crews across concurrent projects

  • Review project plans, specifications, and scope requirements before project launch
  • Conduct project kickoff walkthroughs with crews to establish expectations and review project details
  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, building codes, and company quality standards
  • Troubleshoot field issues including framing challenges, site conditions, utility conflicts, and construction questions

  • Ensure crews have the materials, tools, equipment, and information required to perform their work efficiently
  • Coordinate with internal team members to address material shortages, delivery issues, and project support needs

Customer Experience

  • Serve as a visible and professional company representative throughout the construction process
  • Build positive relationships with homeowners and maintain regular communication regarding project progress

Operational Improvement

  • Partner with leadership to improve field processes and operational efficiency
  • Assist in implementing systems and best practices that support future growth
  • Provide feedback regarding scheduling, crew performance, and operational improvements
  • Contribute to building a scalable field organization capable of supporting continued expansion

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of residential construction experience
  • Proven experience leading construction crews or managing multiple active projects
  • Strong understanding of framing, deck construction, residential building practices, and job sequencing
  • Working knowledge of building codes, structural requirements, and span tables
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor
  • Demonstrated ability to solve construction-related problems independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
