SouthCoast Health is looking for A Medical Office Assistant/Iris Scanner for our Eisenhower Location

Medical Office Assistant (MOA) is responsible for scanning patient irises as well as a wide range of administrative functions. Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, the Medical Office Assistant will perform the clerical functions necessary for proper functioning of the department.

Qualifications:

• Ability to exercise professionalism in dealing with all levels of personnel, patients and patients' families.
  
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of reception tasks, clerical policies/procedures, paperwork and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques including the importance of appropriate image.
• Knowledge of computer system.

Responsibilities:

• Pull orders authorized by providers in order to scan patients' irises.
  
• Answer phones and schedule appointments as needed.
• Work the Athena EMR "Needs Follow Up" bucket while assuring patient presented for appointment and close the loop on the providers order.
• Maintain patient confidentiality of pertinent medical information.
• Follow clinic protocol in alerting appropriate personnel in emergency situations.
• Performs or assists with non-clinical duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Complies with all OSHA regulations.
• Assist with training new employees for the department.
• Coordinates work flow for department.
  

Education/ Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Office Assistant certificate preferred. Minimum of one year experience in customer service setting, preferably six months receptionist experience in health care setting. Computer experience.
