Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and an active GA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital emergency department setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ED/ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
• Required skills: care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage
• Preferred skills: procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Copies of all applicable certifications required for consideration
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• All RTO must be finalized prior to or at the time of submission; no RTO or schedule requests can be made after offer or onsite
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• If 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them — no holiday RTO will be approved
• If 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work 2 of them — one holiday RTO request may be considered for approval
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Former permanent, per diem, or FCSS employees must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for a full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who previously canceled or received a facility DNR must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
• No alternate shift or schedule requests will be accommodated — the posted night shift is firm
• All compliance documents must be submitted by the Tuesday prior to the start date; core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
