VP, Sales - Aggregates
Position Overview
The Vice President of Commercial Sales Operations will lead the commercial strategy and execution for the Aggregates business, driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction. This executive will oversee sales, marketing, pricing, and customer engagement functions, ensuring alignment with operational capabilities and long-term business goals. The role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to build and sustain high-performance teams.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with the President and executive team to shape long-term growth initiatives.
Sales & Business Development
- Lead regional and national sales teams to achieve volume, revenue, and margin targets.
- Cultivate relationships with key customers, industry and civic stakeholders, and strategic partners.
- Drive new business opportunities and expand into adjacent markets.
Pricing & Margin Management
- Oversee pricing strategy and execution to optimize profitability.
- Partner with finance and operations to ensure cost-to-serve and margin discipline.
Marketing & Branding
- Guide marketing efforts to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Support digital transformation and data-driven marketing initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing commercial team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer focus.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, logistics, finance, and HR to ensure seamless execution.
- Align commercial strategies with supply capabilities and operational constraints.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial roles within the construction materials or aggregates industry.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience leading large teams and managing complex customer relationships.
- Ability to travel as needed across the region.

- Deep understanding of the aggregates market, including customer segments, pricing dynamics, and operational challenges.
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability.
