The State and Local Tax (SALT) Compliance Associate is responsible for the preparation of state and local corporate income tax returns. SALT Compliance Associate files annual reports and prepares state qualification listings to ensure UPS remains qualified to conduct business in various states. This position maintains up-to-date knowledge on taxes and tax law changes and utilizes technology to improve tax support.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate from Bachelor or Master in Accounting/Tax or related program or 1-2 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax preferred
- Demonstrates an understanding of basic financial terminology and concepts such as operating profit/loss and net income
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Excellent oral, written and interactive communication skills
- Skilled in effective research tactics with strong organization skills
- Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality
- Ability to convey a positive and professional image to internal and external customers
Additional Information for Internal Candidates:
- Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself - Required
- Job Location: 55 Glenlake Parkway NE Atlanta, GA 30328
- Hours: 40 hours a week (8 am to 5 pm - Monday to Friday)
- Grade: 10E
