Sweat Memorial Baptist Church, Waycross, Georgia
Sweat Memorial Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Pastor whom God has called to
shepherd and lead our congregation.
SMBC is a Southern Baptist Church located in Ware County in Southeast Georgia.
While our community is rural in nature, our church is considered relatively large for the
area with an average attendance of 375 for Sunday services. In recent years, the Lord
has blessed our church with growth, including the addition of many young couples and
families. Our vibrant children’s programs, active church life, and strong music
ministry—including choir and orchestra—have created a sense of excitement and
optimism for the future.
We are a congregation of hard-working, compassionate, loving, and faithful believers
who desire to serve Christ and our community. Though our name is often
mispronounced as “Sweet Memorial,” our members have embraced this as a reflection
of the spirit of our church—a genuinely sweet, friendly, and loving fellowship. Even with
recent growth, Sweat Memorial Baptist Church remains a rural, conservative Southern
Baptist church. We firmly believe the Word of God is inerrant, infallible, and our ultimate
standard of truth.
