JOB SUMMARY
Provide 1st level technical support to end users for the diagnosis and resolution of hardware and software-related issues within the City of Thomasville and other supported cities/organizations. Responsible for all client-side line of business applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide 1st level technical support and resolution for computer problems related to hardware/software, applications, peripherals, and data connections.
- Responsible for all 1st level support for client-side line of business applications.
- Utilize ManageEngine ServiceDesk to log all support issues.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve desktop computer and printer problems; correct and report any anomalies.
- Assist in the analysis of new software/hardware.
- Assist in installing and coordinating the installation of PCs, workstation operating systems, and application software.
- Assist in maintaining computers and related equipment in the computer lab.
- Install, relocate, and perform operational checks on computer equipment.
- Conduct yearly inventory of all network-attached client devices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as an IT Support Technician.
- Capability to obtain Microsoft Entry-Level Certification within the first year of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
- Mobility to work in typical office settings using standard office equipment.
- Vision to read printed materials and computer screens.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- General office setting with occasional deadlines requiring flexibility and adaptability.
