Job Summary
Under limited supervision, the Senior SQL Server Database Administrator will coordinate, design, secure, and manage enterprise-level databases to store and maintain large volumes of critical business data. This role serves as a senior subject matter expert and may act in a lead capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of SQL Server database administration , including:
- Schema management, security, installations, upgrades, patching
- Backup & recovery, space management, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Support SQL Server databases across Production, Test, and Development environments
- Support SQL Server databases within Microsoft SharePoint farm
- Install, upgrade, configure, test, and deploy SQL Server Always On
- Develop and implement database recovery plans and procedures
- Analyze database performance and recommend tuning and application changes
- Implement and validate database security and user authentication
- Review system designs and develop new database systems as required
- Modify database structures and deploy schema changes for new requirements
- Create scripts for batch data loads and operational job automation
- Work with Cohesity Backup Appliance
- Apply working knowledge of Cloud technologies and governance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
- 7+ years of experience supporting databases, operating systems, or related technologies
- Strong expertise in SQL Server DBA functions (100% DBA preferred)
- Second preference: 60% Developer / 40% DBA
- Architects and Project Leads will not be considered
