Systems Test Engineer
Remote role, but candidates must reside near a major airport hub—preferably in the Atlanta, Georgia area, or Houston, Texas also being a suitable alternative.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Test Engineer to support post-go-live testing and validation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) systems across multiple sites. This role is essential to ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performing infrastructure through deep data analysis, automation, and onsite coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide onsite testing support after system installation and launch.
Coordinate with customers and vendors to resolve punch list items and ensure systems meet operational design standards.
Conduct data analysis and deep dives into capacity impacts and system performance.
Drive technical innovation and operational efficiency through automation and simplification.
Design and implement server monitoring and management solutions using self-repair and automation techniques.
Develop and maintain operational workflows that enhance customer experience and system reliability.
Identify and resolve root causes of system failures, focusing on long-term, scalable solutions.
Create and track performance metrics to measure improvements in operational efficiency.
Core Requirements:
5–7 years of experience in testing and validating infrastructure systems.
Prior experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems in datacenter environments.
Proficiency in automation scripting (Python, Perl, Shell).
Excellent system troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Solid understanding of networking protocols (Ethernet, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SSL, DNS,
Experience in SQL query development.
Familiarity with security best practices in server configuration and access control.
Highly Desirable Skills:
Programming experience in C, C++ or Java.
Experience with version control systems (Git, Mercurial, SVN).
Understanding of AWS technologies and cloud infrastructure.
Experience managing large-scale, geographically distributed server environments.
Knowledge of enterprise switching and routing platforms.
Experience with large-scale disk subsystem management and monitoring.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong project management and customer coordination skills.
Ability to work in live building environments and adapt to dynamic site conditions.
Passion for frugality and out-of-the-box engineering solutions.
Commitment to documentation, testing, and operational support best practices.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
