Cemetery Maintenance Worker

We are looking for a dedicated Cemetery Maintenance Specialist in Marietta Georgia 30060with $17.00/hr pay for a 6 month contract, temp role. This position involves physical labor, operation of heavy machinery, and close attention to safety, cleanliness, and respect for families and visitors. The role supports daily cemetery operations and ensures all services are completed with care, precision, and professionalism. Must have 1–2 years of experience in maintenance, landscaping, construction, or related hands-on roles, requires active driver's license - driving is not required, but a valid driver’s license is needed since the role requires operating heavy machinery – APPLY NOW!

Schedule : 40 hours per week; weekends as needed. Must be flexible.

Dress Code:  Work clothes required, including work boots and long sleeves. Shirts must be appropriate—no distasteful language or images.

Must have active DL - driving is not required, but a valid driver’s license is needed since the role requires operating heavy machinery

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with openings and closings for burials, entombments, inurnments, and disinterment.
• Install and assemble foundations, memorials, markers, and outer burial containers.
• Complete work orders related to grave and marker maintenance, responding to family service requests.
• Conduct Interment Verification Procedures and prepare a 25-foot radius around graves, ensuring cleanliness and presentation standards are met.
• Fill graves, tamp soil, and seed or lay sod as required.
• Operate heavy machinery safely and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Maintain clean, orderly work areas at all times.
• Follow all company safety policies and Universal Precautions.
• Complete required training, including Dignity University courses, and uphold the Dignity Memorial Promise.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of experience in maintenance, landscaping, construction, or related hands-on roles.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery safely (driving is not required, but a valid driver’s license is needed).
• Physically able to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and respect for sensitive environments.
• Flexible availability, including weekends if needed.
• Employment verification required.
