• Check in patients, verify phone number and address. Give appropriate forms for Well Visits such as ASQ, M-CHAT, etc. to parents to fill out before being called to the back. Scan parent ID and Insurance, scan /upload the insurance eligibility form into patient chart.
• Confirm appointment, make parent aware of the insurance is not active, and make the parent aware of balance on their account.
• Enter New Patient information.
• Upload Medical Records into patients chart.
• Answer phones and make appointments as needed.
• Assist in checking out patients as needed.
• Call No Show appointments and reschedule.
• Make Well Visit appointments from the recall list provided by the insurance company.
• Clean the Well and Sick waiting area as well as the bathrooms.
• Translate for physician as needed.
• Float to other TCP locations as needed.

• Medical Assistant Duties

• Assist physician in exam rooms.

• · Escort patient to exam rooms, interview parent/patient and document basic medical history, measure vital signs and document all information in the patients chart.

  · Give instructions to patient as instructed by physician.

  · Ensure all related reports, labs and information are scanned and is available in patient medical records prior to their appointment.

  · Give school excuses to parents as needed.

  · Schedule follow up appointments as needed.

  · Keep exam rooms clean stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain and sterilize equipment as required, and mop exam floors daily.

  · Check patient restrooms daily for cleanliness.

  · Perform routine in house labs. Check for sent out lab reports daily and enter report in patient chart. Provide physician with copy of report.

  · Answer telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to parent/patient, physician, pharmacy calls. Triage and process messages from patient parent and front office to staff to physician.

  · Maintain all logs and required checks (ex: vaccine thermometers, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, sterilization fluid change, Vaccine Inventory, etc.) as needed.

  · Check weekly for low stock of office, medical or lab supplies.

  · Administer vaccines to patients and document appropriately into GRITS and Office Practicum.

  · Complete other duties as assigned by physician, site supervisor and practice administrators.
