Information Security Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Information Security Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Sandy Springs, GA. This position requires strong security governance, IAM expertise, threat assessment capabilities, and hands‑on experience supporting enterprise‑level information security programs.

Pay Range: $37/hr – $41/hr ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Information Security Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Ensure governance compliance with regulations and processes to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT assets (information, data, and IT services).

• Assess the effectiveness and quality of security controls using Global Cyber Security Goals and related KPIs.

• Coordinate vulnerability assessments and perform detailed analysis of information security systems.

• Identify potential vulnerabilities in services and applications to strengthen security posture.

• Assess threats, design meaningful security measures, and test security control effectiveness.

• Oversee development of plans to safeguard systems and data against unauthorized modification, destruction, disclosure, and to support emergency recovery.

• Evaluate and integrate IAM technologies—including SSO, MFA, and PAM —into enterprise environments.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum 7+ years of relevant IT experience; strong experience in core Information Security domains.

• Knowledge of IT guidelines, corporate IT policies, escalation paths, and IT organizational standards.

• Hands‑on experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools and frameworks.

• In‑depth understanding of IT security, including firewalls, encryption, authentication/authorization, secure design, protocols, and secure programming.

• Strong awareness of current threats, risk mitigation techniques, and best‑practice security controls.

• Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.

• Ability to manage business stakeholders and communicate security concepts effectively.

• Working knowledge of NIST , OWASP , and OSSTMM security models.

• Experience managing IT projects or implementing SDLC processes with security quality gates.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $41.00 per hour
