Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Technician – Liquid Fill Production
Overview
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all liquid-filled products meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role supports production by performing in-process inspections, testing raw materials and finished goods, documenting results, and helping maintain a compliant manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
In-Process Quality Control
Monitor liquid filling operations to ensure adherence to specifications (fill volumes, weights, torque, labeling, and packaging).
Conduct routine line checks, including container integrity, cleanliness, and proper coding.
Verify that equipment settings match batch specifications and alert supervisors to any deviations.
Testing & Inspection
Conduct physical and chemical tests on raw materials, bulk liquids, and finished products (e.g., viscosity, pH, appearance, specific gravity).
Perform environmental and microbiological sampling if required.
Inspect incoming materials for damage, contamination, or specification mismatches.
Documentation & Compliance
Ensure accurate, timely completion of batch records, QC logs, test results, and deviation reports.
Maintain compliance with GMP, ISO, FDA, or other relevant regulations.
Assist in calibrating equipment used in testing and line inspections.
Non-Conformance Management
Identify product or process non-conformances and take immediate action to stop or correct issues.
Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
Support internal audits and customer complaint investigations.
Collaboration
Work closely with production, maintenance, and QA teams to improve processes and minimize quality issues.
Communicate quality findings clearly to supervisors and operators.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
Experience in manufacturing, preferably in liquid fill, beverage, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics.
Strong attention to detail and understanding of quality principles.
Ability to read SOPs, batch records, and technical specifications.
Preferred
Prior experience with GMP, HACCP, or ISO standards.
Experience with laboratory testing or operating QC instruments.
Strong math and measurement skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods and work around machinery.
Lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
Work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
