Job Title: Engineer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Type: 7 month Contract
Compensation: $36.00
Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power-related systems.
• Support estimate preparation, develop design options, and prepare construction specifications.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors during design, cost estimation, and construction.
• Create a safe work environment by prioritizing safety and understanding processes used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
• Coordinate activities across various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
• Utilize all software applications used in design and ensure industry and company standards are met.
• Support the development of design standards and criteria for the system.
• Assist construction and maintenance teams during daily operations.
• Estimate materials required for projects and transmit construction packages along with supporting specifications.
• Pull mechanical and electrical drawings from the repository, perform field walkdowns, and update drawings with markup.
• Sketch system P&ID’s for missing drawings and components.
• Assign drawing asset/component numbers and develop naming spreadsheets for components and assets.
• Install physical tags on assets and components, track progress, and provide project updates.

• 0-5 years of related experience
• An accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Introductory engineering knowledge
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor
• Basic discipline software knowledge
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and vendors
