Senior Manager, Major Capital Equipment Supplier Quality

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Major Capital Equipment/Supplier Quality to support the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of mission‑critical mechanical and electrical equipment used across our data center operations. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, operations, and sourcing teams to assess supplier capability, evaluate technical processes, and drive continuous improvements that strengthen product quality and production stability. The ideal candidate brings strong a supplier quality background, hands‑on experience with capital equipment, and a proven ability to apply structured problem‑solving methodologies to enhance supplier performance and ensure high‑quality, scalable manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Business Partnering:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, construction , and commissioning to communicate quality risks, resolve stakeholder issues, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality MCE products.
Resource Management:
Provide updates on supplier performance, manage team growth, set goals, and resolve resource/budget issues.
Quality Improvement:
Align and drive quality improvement activities to improve predictability, responsiveness, and delivered quality. Perform 8D failure analysis to execute corrective actions with demonstrated preventative solutions. Enable execution of capital purchases to achieve cost savings, improve vendor performance, and ensure supply agreements compliance.
Root Cause Analysis
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Commissioning team and Suppliers to drive Root Cause Analysis and implement lessons learnt. Conduct frequent inspections of supplier production facilities and align production line metrics and audits to field performance.
Cost Savings:
Drive cost reduction initiatives, maintain forecasts, and track and improve cost of poor quality.
Supplier Management:
Work directly with suppliers managing Delivered quality of complex Power and Mechanical infrastructure systems to solve product quality and process issues. Build supplier relationships, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and support new supplier selection.
Resource Planning:
Ensure KPIs, manage people and financial resources, and apply project management methodologies.
Qualifications
Bachelors in technical/engineering or equivalent experience
10+ years’ experience in one or more of the following: quality engineering, manufacturing quality engineering, supplier quality engineering, supplier management or Category Management
Experience with data center/mission critical capital equipment, such as power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, switchgear, generators, or other large‑scale mechanical/electrical infrastructure
Experience evaluating mechanical/electrical assemblies for design robustness, manufacturability, and quality, Interpret and review engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and test documentation. Observe or validate manufacturing, assembly, or testing processes at suppliers. Identify process or design issues that impact equipment performance, quality, or reliability. Support troubleshooting of component failures, test issues, or process deviations
Experience driving supplier quality improvements, including supplier audits, process capability assessments, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation (8D, DMAIC, PFMEA, etc.)
Experience conducting supplier process audits, readiness assessments, and capability reviews. Lead root‑cause analysis. Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to closure. Apply problem‑solving frameworks such as 8D, DMAIC, PFMEA, Control Plans. Assessing process capability (Cpk, Ppk) and partner with suppliers to improve stability and yield, Monitor supplier KPIs and execute improvement plans tied to quality, delivery, and reliability.
Ability to travel up to 50%

United States - Tampa Office TAO : 136,000 - 204,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
