Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients on the Acute GI Med Unit, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative support, and postoperative recovery as indicated.
- Monitor patient status, including vitals, pain management, IV therapy, wound care, and safety during 12-hour shifts.
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards; assist with perioperative procedures in collaboration with anesthesia and surgical team.
- Document care in the electronic health record; communicate patient updates and handoffs clearly to team members.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and unit staff to coordinate timely, safe patient care and appropriate escalation when needed.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a perioperative or GI unit setting
- Ability to work in an inpatient perioperative environment and the listed 12-hour day shift
- Education: nursing degree from an approved program
