Project Manager (Milton)
TRC’s client is partnering with a national general contractor specializing in retail and light industrial construction, delivering projects across the U.S. with a strong emphasis on quality execution from preconstruction through closeout. This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial builds, including large-box retail and industrial facilities.
Summary
The Project Manager will oversee full-cycle delivery of commercial construction projects ranging from approximately $5M–$25M. This includes managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and client relationships across retail, restaurant, automotive, and light industrial developments. The role requires strong coordination between field teams and office operations, with accountability for project performance, documentation accuracy, and successful delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management
Develop and manage project estimates and oversee subcontractor buyout and scope review processes
Administer contracts, insurance requirements, and compliance documentation
Interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately to guide execution
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, billing, and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with milestones and delivery targets
Coordinate closely with superintendents for on-site execution and field operations
Conduct and lead subcontractor meetings, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables
Utilize project management systems (Procore preferred) for documentation, communication, and reporting
Oversee project financial performance including forecasting, cost control, and reporting
Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers, providing guidance and development support
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
Ensure timely reporting and proactive communication across all stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction
Strong background in retail and/or light industrial construction preferred
Experience managing multiple projects across different stages simultaneously
Proficiency in scheduling tools, MS Office Suite, and Procore (preferred)
Strong understanding of construction means and methods, contract administration, and project financials
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and drive projects to successful completion
