Salary Range: 65,500.00 To 73,000.00 (USD) Annually

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Safety Specialist to lead and manage safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture within our organization. This role requires a dedicated professional with a deep understanding of safety standards, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to mentor teams.

Reports to: Safety Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs to reduce workplace incidents and improve overall safety performance.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Prepare and manage documentation for safety inspections, audits, and regulatory agency reporting.
• Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
• Design and deliver safety training programs for employees and management to promote safe work practices.
• Develop and oversee emergency response plans, including drills and exercises.
• Foster a strong safety culture by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is a priority in all operations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and recommendations to management on safety-related matters.
• Analyze safety metrics and trends to develop strategies for continuous improvement
• Prepare and present reports on safety performance to senior leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

• HS Diploma/GED
• 2 Years of direct safety experience
• Field of experience: Safety, Warehouse
• Training: Safety issue training experience
• Certification/License: OSHA 30, AED, First Aid
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management, with a proven track record of success in improving workplace safety.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Workplace Conditions:

• Working at Heights: Ladders, elevated platforms, maintenance, etc.
• Operating Heavy Machinery: Loaders, Forklifts, etc.
• Precise Manual Dexterity: Handling tools, machinery, etc.
• Exposure to change in temperature: extreme heat, cold, humidity, harsh weather, etc.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, chemicals, etc: dust from construction sites, agriculture, demolition, etc.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the Safety Specialist is $65,500-$73,000.  The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
