Data Engineer CONTRACTOR

VisionWrights is in search of a Contract Data Engineer to contribute on a fractional basis. This role does have the potential to turn into a full time role if both parties are in agreement.

VisionWrights is a full service data & analytics consulting firm, covering data management & governance, analytics, data strategy, and AI/ML. Most of our consultants work across several of these disciplines, and we serve clients across a variety of interesting industries, which makes for a very dynamic, collaborative, and high-learning work environment. We are seeking consultants to focus on data management/engineering/warehousing with secondary competency in BI platforms and analytics.

The following disciplines and tools are most relevant to the VisionWrights Data Engineering role:

• Data Integration: Talend/Stitch, Airbyte, Portable, Fivetran, Mulesoft


• Data Transformation: DBT, Airflow, Talend, Alteryx


• Data Management: Snowflake, Databricks, Big Query


• Cloud Platforms: AWS, GCP


• Business Intelligence: Qlik, Domo, PowerBI, Tableau (focus on admin, data pipelines, and light development)


• Scripting: Python, SQL

Critical Attributes of a Successful Team Member:

• Interested in learning new technologies


• Able to architect and build solutions in a variety of stacks, from prototyping to production


• Able to recommend an ideal technology stack based on deep understanding of client needs, as uncovered in data strategy discussions–including technical requirements, pricing/scalability concerns, alignment with client competencies, etc.


• Articulate and comfortable in client-facing and pre-sales technical selling scenarios

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher education in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Economics, or a similar applicable field


• Ability to work with cross-functional teams/departments


• Ability to work in a fully-remote company


• Authorized to work in the United States without restriction

This is a remote position.

Compensation: $70.00 - $100.00 per hour
