Class Summary

: This class is responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative support duties including ordering materials, entering shopping carts, processing financial transactions, filing, reporting, and data entry. This position interacts with visitors to the facility in person, through phone, and email. Visitors include the general public, vendors, and other service providers. General clerical duties such as filing and answering calls will also be required.

This position is located at the Yellow River Water Reclamation Facility in Lilburn, GA. Essential Duties:
  • Provides administrative support, such as maintaining department and employee schedules, coordinating meetings and agendas, making travel arrangements, editing and preparing newsletters, brochures and basic reports, researching information, generating totals from calculations, and providing related support.
  • Reviews, researches and enters information to department reporting systems. Maintains the department's personnel files, such as verifying and entering timesheets, tracking performance evaluations, performing background checks, and maintaining related personnel information.
  • Prepares and processes personnel transaction forms.
  • Assists with tracking budget and department information, such as maintaining balances, researching discrepancies, and preparing related financial reports.
  • Preparing and processing of divisional annual budget. Collects monies, issues receipts, and balances monies received daily.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing purchase orders, vouchers, price agreements, payments, and petty cash disbursements.
  • Performs basic office duties, such as copying, filing, faxing, typing standard documents, preparing, sorting, and distributing mail and entering data.
  • Provides customer support by answering phones, assisting walk-in customers, and researching and/or providing information to the public.
  • Maintains, updates and ensures the accuracy of standard documents, records and accounts.
  • Maintains the inventory of office supplies and orders materials as necessary.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

The Grade for this position is B211. Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D.,
  • Two years of administrative support or related office experience
  • or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Eight years or more of administrative support or related experience

The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County's values. In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law.
