Level 2 Cable Technician, Security Technician And AV Technician

Job Description

We’re hiring Technicians (Level 2/3) to support structured cabling, security system, and AV installations across schools, colleges, and commercial buildings in the Savannah, GA area. We’re looking for dependable techs with hands-on experience in fiber and copper cabling, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and AV systems. What You’ll Do

Structured Cabling

• Install, terminate, and test low-voltage copper and fiber optic cables
• Route cable through conduit, ceilings, and floors per job specs
• Read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints
• Identify color codes for 568A, 568B, 6-strand, 12-strand fiber, 25-pair, and 50-pair
• Assist in installation of communications hardware
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism

Security Systems

• Install and maintain access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and alarm systems
• Mount and connect control panels, sensors, cameras, and wiring
• Troubleshoot and repair circuits and system components
• Follow electrical layouts and building plans
• Provide client training and support as needed

Audio Visual (AV)

• Install AV systems including displays, projectors, screens, speakers, inputs, and control panels
• Pull, terminate, and test AV cabling
• Assemble and test equipment racks
• Support DSP changes and control code loading
• Perform red-line changes and maintain accurate documentation
• Provide client/end-user training on system operation

What You Bring

• 2–4 years of experience in structured cabling, security systems, or AV installations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and system drawings
• Strong troubleshooting and installation skills
• Reliable transportation and punctuality
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to work first shift (7 AM – 4 PM) and occasional off-hours based on workload

Nice to Have

• Experience with S2, VMS, and access control systems
• BICSI or manufacturer certifications
• Video conferencing system experience
• Prior experience leading installation projects

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hr.
