POSITION SUMMARY: The teller’s primary role is to interact with customers by performing daily customer teller transactions. The employee is to provide a positive, enthusiastic, and exceptional customer experience while adhering to and exhibiting First Port City Bank’s “Core Values”: Positive, Professional, and Productive.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive deposits, process cashed checks and savings withdrawals, receive loan payments, issue cashier’s checks, prepare change orders, and process other teller transactions. (Rolling coin at select branches)
- Follow Customer Identification Procedures (CIP) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures by obtaining valid documentation, i.e. current driver’s license, state identification, passport etc.. to ensure the transaction is being performed for the proper customer.
- Maintain cash drawer in accordance with FPCB’s Teller Balancing Policy, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly to ensure financial integrity.
- Follow bank security procedures by counting and managing all funds received by customers, securing cash, adhering to cash limits, robbery procedures, branch open and closing procedures, including night drop deposits, teller checklist, and end-of-day balancing processes.
- Adhere to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures, by monitoring all customer information available to you for suspicious activity and completing Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), when cash transactions exceed $10,000.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products and services offered by First Port City Bank. Provide prompt and courteous assistance to customers in person, by phone, or via email, addressing inquiries and resolving issues. Foster strong customer relationships through exceptional service and proactive cross-selling of relevant banking solutions. Support customers with access to safe deposit boxes as needed.

- Issue/Replace Debit Cards
- Assist customers with Online Banking access
- Teller Overrides, if granted authority.
- Vault Balancing
- ATM/TCR Balancing/Troubleshooting
- Foreign Item Collection
- Preparing Wire Transfers
- Reg E Disputes
- Proficient in supporting personal bankers with standard day-to-day job functions i.e., new accounts, stop payments, auto transfer, etc.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High School Diploma
Experience
- Minimum 1 year clerical or customer service experience.
- Minimum 1 year Teller experience.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Close attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize time management.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effectively handle customer objections
- Strong decision-making skills
