Maintenance Manager (Services)
Job Title (Job Code): Maintenance Manager (Services) – IN-ES-01
The Maintenance Manager ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the fleet and wayside systems by effectively implementing the approved Fleet Management Plan. This role leads the execution of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities for both vehicles and wayside to meet contractual, quality, and safety requirements, delivering clean, available, and dependable trains for passenger service. The Maintenance Manager provides leadership and direction to maintenance staff and supervisory teams, driving performance against key metrics including fleet and wayside reliability, maintainability, safety compliance, and schedule adherence.
Maintenance Leadership & Execution
- Lead day-to-day maintenance execution across vehicles and wayside equipment (preventive, corrective, predictive, component rebuild/overhaul), ensuring safe work practices, contractual compliance, and readiness for passenger service.
- Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with approved procedures and maintenance plans, including inspection intervals, safety-critical tasks, and required documentation and work-order closeout in the Service Execution System (SES).
- Provide visible leadership in the shop and field, reinforcing right-first-time execution, hazard recognition, procedural compliance, and adherence to LOTO requirements.
Maintenance Planning, Scheduling & Backlog Control
- Track and report planning-related KPIs, including schedule compliance, planned work percentage (planned vs. reactive), and backlog age.
- Oversee the maintenance planning process to ensure work is properly scoped, prioritized, and scheduled to support service and availability needs.
- Allocate planned work strategically across shifts to optimize labor utilization and maintain a consistent maintenance workflow.
- Manage and control the maintenance backlog using clear prioritization criteria—safety, service impact, regulatory compliance, and reliability—while ensuring records support audit readiness (complete history, traceability, and accurate closeout).
Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure maintenance execution complies with Alstom standards and AZDP safety requirements, including permit/LOTO governance, safety-critical task controls, and required inspections.
- Lead maintenance engagement in defect reporting and resolution, ensuring resolution actions are effective and sustained.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture by reinforcing standard work practices, reducing waste, and improving maintainability.
