Lead CNC Machinist
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team in Duluth. As a Lead CNC Machinist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the machining operations, ensuring quality and efficiency while mentoring junior machinists. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily CNC machining operations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and mills, to produce high-quality parts.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Train and mentor junior machinists, providing guidance on best practices and techniques.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and workflows.
- Monitor production metrics and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficient in operating CNC lathes and mills, with a strong understanding of G-code programming.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and tools.
