Staff Accountant – Drive Financial Integrity and Support Telecommunications Infrastructure Growth
Job Overview:
Company: Cherokee Fiber & Associates Inc.
Salary/Pay Rate: $60,000- $75,000 plus Year-End Bonus.
Location: Office-based (Canton, GA).
Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.
The Opportunity: You will serve as a foundational member of our finance team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial records that fuel our fiber infrastructure projects. This role offers the unique chance to grow within an employee-owned company while managing diverse accounting functions from month-end close to audit support.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Formulate and post precise journal entries to maintain high-quality financial documentation.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and credit cards to ensure project transparency.
Coordinate with AP and AR functions to maintain strict departmental timelines and cash flow.
Execute month-end and year-end close processes in strict accordance with GAAP principles.
Analyze financial data to prepare balance sheets, income statements, and internal reports.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase departmental efficiency and accuracy.
Support external audits by organizing and providing requested financial documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–3 years of professional accounting or related financial experience.
Basic understanding of GAAP principles and internal control procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software like ADP or QuickBooks.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Demonstrated experience within the construction or telecommunications industry.
Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced financial reporting tools.
Active progress toward a CPA certification or equivalent technical training.
