Machinist

Machinist Position in Savannah, GA

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic team. This position offers two shifts: 1st shift from Monday to Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm, and 2nd shift from 4pm to 2:30am.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain various machines including horizontal mills, vertical mills, VTLs, lathes, manual mills, surface grinders, and EDMs.
• Perform basic inspections, load and unload parts and tooling.
• Read and interpret G and M Code proficiently.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure quality standards.
• Read, write, comprehend, and follow instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Perform calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply them to tasks.
• Compute rate, ratio, and percentage and interpret bar graphs.
• Operate and understand both SAE and Metric units of measure.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems with several variables.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of machining experience.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding G and M Code.
• Experience with FANUC controls and operating various machines such as horizontal mills, vertical mills, VTLs, lathes, manual mills, surface grinders, and EDMs.
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external interactions.
• Mathematical proficiency in calculating using various units of measure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to present information effectively in both one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to solve problems and apply logical reasoning to carry out instructions.

Pay and Benefits
