About the Role

The Barista helps keep the café running smoothly day to day. When ownership isn’t on site, this role helps make sure the store is operating the way it should.

This is a hands-on position. You’ll work alongside the team, support Shift Leads, and help keep things organized, on track, and moving forward. You’re not sitting in an office, you’re part of the floor and part of the solution.

Smooth Daily Operations
The café opens and closes properly, stays clean and organized, and runs consistently throughout the day.

A Supported, Accountable Team
Team Members and Shift Leads know what’s expected, are trained well, and feel supported when things get busy.

Great Guest Experiences
Guests are taken care of quickly, politely, and consistently, even during rushes.

ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations

  • Help oversee day-to-day café operations
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed correctly
  • Jump in where needed during busy periods (POS, barista, or kitchen)
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards

Team Support & Leadership

  • Support Shift Leads during their shifts
  • Help train new Team Members and develop Shift Leads
  • Provide real-time feedback and coaching
  • Assist with attendance, performance, and conduct issues alongside management

Scheduling & Coverage

  • Help with weekly schedules and shift adjustments
  • Ensure shifts are properly staffed
  • Step in to help cover shifts when needed

Inventory & Store Readiness

  • Assist with inventory counts
  • Make sure supplies are stocked and organized
  • Monitor waste and communicate issues before they become problems

Guest Relations

  • Handle escalated guest concerns calmly and professionally
  • Resolve issues in a way that protects both the guest experience and the brand
  • Set the tone for hospitality and service on the floor

Communication

  • Communicate operational issues, staffing needs, and trends to management
  • Help ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently

This role is about execution, consistency, and supporting the team, not corporate-level decision making.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in food service, coffee, hospitality, or retail leadership
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Calm and steady under pressure
  • Comfortable coaching and supporting others
  • Willing to work alongside the team, not above it

Coffee experience is a plus, but not required. We value personality, leadership, responsibility, and work ethic above all else.

Availability

  • Flexible availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work a consistent schedule
  • Willingness to help with coverage when needed

Skills & Physical Requirements

  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Comfortable using POS systems, handling cash, and basic math
  • Able to follow procedures and food safety standards
  • Able to stand and move for extended periods
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40–50 pounds occasionally
  • Comfortable working around heat, food equipment, and cleaning products

Pay & Growth

  • $12-15/hour base pay
  • Tips average an additional $4–5+/hour
