Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description
The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling products according to documentation and directions provided. This role involves positioning and aligning subassemblies, installing parts and components, and operating various hand tools to ensure accurate and safe production.
Responsibilities
- Assemble products per documentation and directions.
- Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures following blueprint station lines and index points.
- Verify fitting tolerances using measuring instruments such as gauges and calipers.
- Install parts and components, specializing in assembling and installing structural components and subassemblies.
- Operate hand tools including drills, rivet guns, and screwdrivers, ensuring equipment operates correctly and safely.
- Locate, drill, ream, and countersink holes in subassemblies for installation of parts using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
- Utilize tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and other gauges to interpret and record part measurements accurately.
- Visually assess parts for missing or incomplete operations.
- Maintain quantities and operation accountability per the manufacturing control plan.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow directions consistently and accept responsibility for actions and work product.
- Comply with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures, proactively identifying job hazards and collaborating with leadership to minimize hazards.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Experience reading and accurately interpreting shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers.
- Experience using hand tools such as calipers, height gauges, drills, and rivet guns.
- Proficiency in using various hand tools and instruments for assembly.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility, occasionally reaching, bending, crawling, stooping, squatting, or kneeling.
- Capability to lift, carry, and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or material-handling equipment.
- Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices.

Work Environment
The work environment involves exposure to excessive noise, dust, smoke, mist, fumes, and vapors. The role requires working around hazardous equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, and lifting devices. Employees work Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, in conditions that occasionally involve extreme temperatures. Hearing protection is required due to noise levels.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
