Healthcare Designer
Overall Position Description:
A Healthcare Designer works with the Senior Design lead on projects. He/She acts as a dedicated Team Designer assisting in completing various design support including furniture specifications, development of furniture plans and specification primarily using CET Designer, space planning, client meetings, site/ inventory/ measurement verifications, fabric/ finish selections, presentation boards, product specification cut sheets, and furniture installation documents. He/ She has extensive knowledge of MillerKnoll product, and other manufacture lines with proficient comfort level with ancillary lines and meets independently with clients and is seen as a trusted advisor.
Specialized Responsibilities:
· Healthcare Designer provides direct assistance to the Senior Designer Lead, regarding product application, design application (including legendary customer knowledge) and technology programs (CET, AutoCAD, SPEC, CAP 2020)
· Responsible for aiding in bids, existing and new business projects, product positioning, strategy, and deliverables review
· Technology - Proficient in maintaining standards and processes for all CWC systems/software including CET, SPEC, AutoCAD, etc.
· Live Design - initiate and perform Live Design presentations with client
· Ability to create MillerKnoll Scout Boards for client presentations
Healthcare Designer Responsibilities:
· Work with Senior Design Lead to establish a client's design requirements and sets goals for the project
· Develop furniture block plans, space plans, finish palettes, furniture specifications, renderings, reconfigurations, and installation drawings for small, medium and large projects
· Ensure space planning for furniture is code compliant
· Apply discount and margin percentages to pricing quotes
· Responsible for requesting COM yardage, creating COM quotes, requesting fabric holds for all manufacturers
· Capable of creating special quotes, if needed, and assisting in bid packages of all complexities
· Manages changes and revisions, as required
· Be an avid specification double-checker for the team
· Ability to successfully multitask on several projects at a time, completing short timeframes given by Sales
· Perform field measures, product inventory, and on-site assessments to ensure accurate drawings and specifications
· Possess a sense of urgency and flexibility for the fast turnaround of sales quotes and projects
· Attends client meetings with salespeople to cultivate relationships and obtain planning information

· Works independently with clients/ A&D to translate needs into a floor plan, proficient using planning guides, initiates creative ideas for alternate solutions
· Applies drawing and documentation standards to projects, applies electronic file naming conventions, updates project records
· Creates specifications for clients using CET Designer/SPEC, proficient in gathering information from vendors, proficiency of pricing and creating blended product solutions, able to specify COM, able to assist in specification review for other Designers
· Expert in MillerKnoll system and seating vocabulary, familiar with ancillary lines and fabric vendors, able to push the boundaries of standard product application
· Proficient in the Design process, acts as a resource to other Designers and answers questions
· Participates in all Dealer training programs, participates in all MillerKnoll training programs, able to train Design peers on process and product, if needed
Education/ Experience/Skill Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree from accredited (4) year university, architectural, or interior design school
· 3+ years industry experience required
· Working towards/ passed NCIDQ encouraged (but not required)
· Participation in professional organization encouraged (but not required)
· Proficient in CET,AUTOCAD
