Job Summary Lead the implementation and management of a comprehensive prospect research program, supporting the organization's development initiatives. Conduct in-depth research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a variety of biographical, organizational, and financial resources, including online databases, internet platforms, library collections, government records, and other publicly available information. Collaborate closely with the development team to optimize major gift portfolio management and contribute to stewardship strategies. Support the implementation of stewardship initiatives to strengthen donor relationships. Partner with the development and database teams to ensure the accurate and thorough documentation of donor interactions and research findings Responsibilities Researching - 40
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend current and potential major gift prospects, assessing their capacity to financially support the university.
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of biographical, philanthropic, professional, and financial information on donors and prospects.
- Prepare detailed written profiles, event biographies, and targeted prospect lists to support the cultivation of individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Analyze prospects to determine financial capacity and assign capacity ratings based on relevant financial data.
- Leverage relationship mapping tools to identify strategic connections and facilitate institutional engagement opportunities. Coordinating - 25
- Oversee all research operations for the University Advancement division, including developing and implementing procedures, managing research requests, and enhancing the effectiveness of the research process to meet the needs of the development team.
- Ensure all results and findings are accurately tracked and maintained in the donor database.
- Coordinate the design and management of the donor database, focusing on prospect coding systems, contact report procedures, ratings, and proposal tracking.
- Assist the Vice President of Advancement with data reporting, including metrics for Division of Development (DOD) performance.
- Collaborate with the stewardship team to ensure accurate documentation in the database and proper identification of donors for stewardship events and projects.
- Work jointly with stewardship to support initiatives that strengthen donor relationships and recognition efforts. Collaborating - 30
- Partner with development staff to design and implement effective cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to Division of Development Officers (DODs) and the broader development team in managing donor portfolios for maximum impact.
- Act as a liaison between the database team, Advancement Services, and the development team to ensure seamless communication and data integration.
- Collaborate with the Annual Giving team to identify and prioritize new donor prospects through proactive research and present actionable findings to the development staff.
