  • Apply adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and performance consulting practices to ensure relevant, high-quality solutions.

  • Translate complex topics into clear, accessible, and actionable learning content that resonates with team members at all levels.

  • Incorporate modern learning strategies like microlearning, gamification, immersive simulations, and scenario-based modules to maximize engagement and retention.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with HR, operations, and business leaders to assess learning needs, identify performance gaps, and design targeted learning paths.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to build programs that reflect real-world challenges and opportunities.

  • Act as a strategic learning partner, ensuring all solutions align with RaceTrac’s business strategy, EVP, and culture.

  • Engage the right stakeholders early, ensuring their perspectives are incorporated from the start to build alignment, foster collaboration, and secure buy-in for all learning initiatives

  • Measurement, Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Build metrics, feedback loops, and assessment tools to evaluate learning program effectiveness and ROI.

  • Use data and insights to make continuous improvements to curriculum and delivery methods.

  • Monitor and integrate emerging technologies and learning trends to keep RaceTrac at the forefront of innovation.

  • Innovation & Technology

  • Leverage advanced authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Creative Suite) and RaceTrac’s LMS to create interactive, visually engaging content.

  • Explore AI-driven learning tools, mobile platforms, and data analytics to optimize learner engagement and program impact.

  • Maintain an organized content lifecycle to ensure materials are up-to-date, accurate, and relevant to evolving business needs.

What We're Looking For:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Educational Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design and curriculum development across multi-modal learning platforms.

  • Proven expertise designing for technical, operational, soft skills, and leadership development programs.

  • Proficiency in learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise) and LMS platforms.

  • Exceptional project management, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to navigate evolving business needs with an entrepreneurial mindset, driving innovative and practical solutions

Preferred

  • Experience designing programs for retail, service, or operations-focused industries.

  • Knowledge of mobile learning, accessibility standards, and gamification.

  • Experience with learning analytics to measure program effectiveness.

  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced learning technologies and digital innovation.

  • Professional certifications such as ATD CPLP, CTDP, or Prosci are a plus.
