We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Retail Strategy Specialist to lead the development and execution of marketing and merchandising programs across our retail channels. This role will focus on managing high-impact partnerships, promotional strategies, and consulting projects with major retailers and independent bookstores.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and analysis of marketing campaigns with national and regional retail partners.
- Collaborate with Strategic Brand Management, Licensing and Partnerships teams to develop in-store and digital retail programs that drive sell-through.
- Manage promotional calendars, co-op marketing funds, and partner communications to ensure internal and external clients are informed of all retail developments.
- Analyze retail sales data and marketing performance to optimize strategies and deliver insights to internal stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for retail partners and build strong, collaborative relationships.
- Build relationships with key licensees to assist in the optimization and development of retail opportunities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of collaborative strategic plans with key retail accounts.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Partnerships account team to identify opportunities and develop hypothesis around growth opportunities for retailer consulting projects.
- Manage projects related to retail consulting projects, ensuring clear timelines, cross-functional coordination, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies that elevate the campus bookstore experience.
- Conduct peer benchmarking and analyze consumer behavior trends to inform merchandising, marketing, and customer engagement tactics.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve product presentation, assortment planning, and in-store storytelling specific to the college market.
- Identify opportunities for innovation in the college retail space and share best practices across partner stores and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in retail marketing, shopper marketing, or category management.
- Proven experience working with major retailers
- Experience or exposure to the college licensing or sports licensing industries is a plus
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Strong organization and strategic-thinking skills to turn objectives into an actionable plan.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Suite required, experience with Monday.com and Canva is a plus
