Automation Controls Product Manager - Power & Circuit Protection (Cumming)

TRC is partnering with a North American leader in industrial automation and e-commerce to hire an Automation Controls Product Manager focused on Power and Circuit Protection products. This role is ideal for a Controls Engineer looking to transition into product management, or for an experienced Product Manager with a passion for industrial automation hardware and strategic ownership.

Summary

The Product Manager will act as the strategic owner of a multi-million-dollar product category including motor controls, transformers, and circuit protection products. Partnering closely with engineering, suppliers, and commercial teams, this individual will oversee product strategy, supplier management, new product introduction, and lifecycle management to drive growth and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year product roadmaps and category strategies
• Analyze market trends, customer demand, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including supplier selection, pricing, branding, and forecasting
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate agreements to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance
• Support commercial initiatives including product positioning, marketing materials, and technical guidance
• Oversee lifecycle management including product health, obsolescence planning, and end-of-life transitions
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, sales, operations, and marketing teams
• Provide high-level product and application expertise to internal stakeholders and customers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering highly preferred)
• 7–10+ years of experience within the Industrial Controls & Automation industry
• Experience in Product Management, Controls Engineering, Applications Engineering, or System Integration
• Strong technical knowledge of motor controls, transformers, and circuit protection products
• Familiarity with UL, CSA, CE, or related compliance standards preferred
• Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
• Ability to work independently in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
