Status: Full-Time
Position Overview
Wesley Glen Ministries is expanding services into western Georgia beginning in Columbus. This role will be instrumental in our development efforts in the region. The Development Coordinator will play a critical role in building relationships, deepening community connections, and advancing a culture of generosity that supports our mission.
This person will work closely with the Macon-based Development team and report directly to the Chief Integration and Advancement Officer, helping ensure alignment between community engagement, program growth, and development strategy in Columbus.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Engagement, Cultivation & Stewardship
- Proactively identify, cultivate, and build relationships with new donors and prospective supporters in the western region of the state
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level existing donors and prospects, with a focus on growing their engagement.
- Assist in scheduling donor visits for leadership and manage all follow-up and stewardship efforts related to the leadership team visits in the region with existing and new donors and foundations
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all donor activity in the donor database
- Develop and implement strategies to expand Wesley Glen’s base of support in Columbus and the broader region
Community Engagement & Expansion Efforts
- Serve as a primary connector in the Columbus community, building relationships with local partners, churches, and businesses
- Lead cultivation efforts that introduce new individuals and groups to Wesley Glen’s mission along with tours of the facility
- Work with Wesley Glen’s Event Coordinator to coordinate key WG approved initiatives such as ribbon cuttings, community events, and assisting with the 18-month plan to prepare and establish Columbus’ first Abundant Life event in connection with Macon’s event.
- Represent Wesley Glen at community events and networking opportunities
Program & Donor Experience
- Collaborate closely with the Director and staff of the Columbus program to ensure alignment between program and development efforts
- Help create meaningful, mission-centered experiences that connect donors to our neighbors and our work
Marketing & Communications Support
- Capture photos, stories, and updates from Columbus to share with the Macon marketing team
- Contribute written content and impact data for grant applications, social media, and donor communications
Volunteer Coordination
- Manage development volunteers and event committees supporting events and special projects in west GA.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with the Macon Development team to ensure alignment and strategy execution
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advance development goals
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit development, communications, or related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in fundraising, relationship management, or community engagement preferred, particularly in the Columbus/West Georgia area
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build authentic relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Experience with donor databases/CRM systems preferred
- Self-starter who thrives in a growing and relational environment
