River Edge Behavioral Health is recognized for its state-of-the-art treatment and support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families, and adults annually who experience mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse problems. In addition, River Edge offers services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Technician - IDD - to join our team in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day. The Behavioral Health Technician - IDD cares for people who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, or age-related problems. He or she provides social interaction and companionship for patients in various healthcare settings under the direction of a licensed professional.

Location/Schedule 1241 Orchard Hill Road, Milledgeville, GA This available schedule is for full-time and part-time shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complies with Oconee policies/procedures
• Comply with client facility nursing policies/procedures
• Maintains confidentiality relative to patient services and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
• Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel.
• Provides companionship services, such as sitting with patient or reading to patient

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least six months of work experience as a sitter/companion in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in Behavioral Health
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Must be self-started and work independently.
• Must be able to perform assignments with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
• Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.
