DC Network Engineer with Adva or Ciena

Akkodis is seeking a DC Network Engineer with Adva or Ciena Experience for a Contract with a client in Alpharetta, GA. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of DWDM/OTN technologies and supports advanced migrations and escalations for field teams.

Rate Range: $64/hour to $68/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

DC Network Engineer with Adva or Ciena Experience job responsibilities include:

• Lead the deployment, commissioning, and end‑to‑end testing of Ciena and ADVA optical and packet networking platforms, ensuring successful implementation in live environments.

• Perform complex in‑service upgrades and network migrations with zero customer impact, maintaining high availability and service continuity.

• Configure and manage Network Management Systems (NMS) while supporting DWDM/CWDM optical transport network designs.

• Provide advanced technical escalation support to field engineers and customers, resolving high‑complexity issues across optical, OTN, and Ethernet layers.

• Conduct Layer‑3 routing and switching configurations (BGP, OSPF) and validate system performance across transport and IP domains.

• Coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders, prepare timely status reports, and ensure strong communication across operational and technical teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).

• 8–10 years of hands‑on experience in optical networking, network deployment, or telecom infrastructure engineering.

• Deep technical proficiency in DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH, Ethernet, and hands‑on experience with Ciena 6500 and related optical platforms.

• Strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP/OSPF) with proven ability to perform in‑service migrations, manage NMS systems, and support complex escalations.

Pay Details: $64.00 to $68.00 per hour
