Shipping Team Lead

What you'll be doing:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the shift with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Acts as first point of contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and enforce control procedures, recommending improvements to the Plant Superintendent, as appropriate.
- Coordinates production activities with other departments to ensure production goals/objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Monitor production activities to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedules.
- Input production data accurately into the system to measure and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) around efficiencies, downtime, inventory and overall production.
- Provide freight quotes as requested
- Generate Proforma Invoice as requested
- Prepare shipping and export documentation required for international shipments.
- Coordinate with sales/customer service team to promote accurate and timely processing of orders for customers
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies
- Communicate with sales/service and other functional areas to resolve customer problems in a timely manner
- Provide support to Sales/customer service team
- Perform other tasks within the SRI team, as and when needed
- Maintain international customer profile and relevant customer information as well as task specific SOP's
What you'll need:
- FedEx shipping software experience.
- International shipping experience and knowledge of customs requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Preferably DOT/DG certified
