Robotics Systems Maintenance Technician
Join Symbotic in Jackson, GA
Picture your day: you arrive at our brand-new Jackson facility, open the CMMS to review overnight status, and head to the heart of our automated operation—adapters, vertical lifts, conveyors, and a fast-moving fleet of robotic vehicles. You inspect, calibrate, and fine‑tune systems so product flows seamlessly. When something stalls, you dive into schematics, isolate faults, swap or repair components, then document everything with precision.
Schedule & Ramp Plan
- Start on a Monday–Friday day shift as the site launches.
- As volume grows, we will transition to a 24/7 model with two 12‑hour rotations:
- Team A: Sunday–Tuesday plus every other Wednesday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM (Days) or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM (Nights)
- Team B: Thursday–Saturday plus every other Wednesday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM (Days) or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM (Nights)
- We are seeking candidates available for day shift initially and flexible to move to either rotation when 24/7 begins.
What You’ll Tackle
- Inspect Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) assets, automated adapters/lifts, and robotic vehicles to ensure readiness and reliability.
- Keep operations continuous by adjusting, calibrating, repairing, replacing, or modifying components as needed.
- Monitor and manage material flow—manual inbound, automatic inbound, and automatic outbound—to maximize throughput and cases per hour.
- Troubleshoot robotic vehicle stoppages using wiring diagrams, schematics, and advanced test equipment.
- Perform periodic inspections within target durations; record parts/labor and maintenance actions in the CMMS.
- Communicate production-impacting issues, recommended actions, and estimated repair times to the right stakeholders.
- Adapt quickly in a dynamic setting, shifting priorities with business needs.
- Recover robotic vehicles within the Symbotic Matrix select system, including work in restrictive areas.
- Complete minor fabrication/utility work (e.g., machining holes, brackets; cutting steel; aligning sensors; installing Unistrut).
- Set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform tool changes on robotic arms.
- Maintain 5S standards through continuous cleaning and organization.
- Perform Cell Operator tasks when required and assist with other duties assigned by leadership.
