Salary: $11 - $15
We are looking to expand our team! We are seeking a dynamic and organized Afterschool Program Coordinator to lead and oversee our afterschool program operations. The ideal candidate has experience running youth-centered programs, thrives in a leadership role, and is passionate about creating a safe, enriching, and structured environment for children.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys mentoring youth, mentoring staff, and building strong relationships with families and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate daily afterschool activities that support academic, physical, and social-emotional development.
- Supervise and lead afterschool staff, ensuring clear communication, smooth operations, and consistent behavior management strategies.
- Serve as the point person for parents, guardians, and school personnel regarding student progress, attendance, and program events.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety protocols, and center policies.
- Coordinate snack/meal service, transportation schedules (if applicable), and supply ordering.
- Track attendance and prepare reports or updates as required by leadership.
- Facilitate staff meetings and provide ongoing support and feedback to team members.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of afterschool staff.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment where children feel safe, supported, and engaged.
Qualifications
- Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1year of experience in childcare or youth programming, with at least 6monthsin a leadership role.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Must pass a background check and meet all child care licensing requirements.
- Preferred:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Previous experiencerunning or coordinating an afterschool programor similar group-based youth activity.
- Familiarity with Bright from the Start regulations or similar state-level childcare standards.
Compensation & Scheduling:
- Pay Rate:Based on experience and qualifications. Competitive and negotiable.
- Schedule:MondayFriday, primarily 12:00 PM 5:30PM (subject to change during school holidays or teacher workdays) .
- Some weekend or evening availability may be required for special events or training - Compensation does apply.
