Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Career Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating employers needs, reducing high turnover rates, increasing talent fulfillment rates, and securing employer contracts.

Duties

• Point of contact is the Director of Career Services or Human Resources

• Engage in employer outreach and employer presentations to participate in monthly career networking events

  • Secure (4) employer partnerships per month by the 27th of each calendar month

  • Identify new sources for new employer partnerships to join the On-demand job placement system named Job Optimization Biosystem.

• Help meet department goals by helping (17) people secure employment per month through the new Job Optimization Biosystem.

• Mentor career seekers in developing essential skills such as interviewing techniques, effective communication, and professional etiquette.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Proven experience in academic advising or career counseling within a university setting.

• Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.

• Proficient in using PeopleSoft or similar software for managing student information.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with individuals from various backgrounds.

• Experience in mentoring or coaching individuals towards achieving their professional objectives.

• Knowledge of recruiting practices and job market trends is highly desirable.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary.

Compensation:

• Job is offered as a W2 or W9

• Part-time: $24,500 per year/ compensation paid on the 1st of the month

• Full-time: $49,000 per year/ compensation paid on the 1st of the month
