SUPERIOR COURT OF FULTON COUNTY: JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE POSITION OF : JURY ASSISTANT SALARY GRADE 11: $39,590 : Unclassified Position in the Superior Court Administrator's Office: (Current Vacancy in Jury Services): CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled: **THIS IS A LIMITED-TERM BENEFIT-ELIGIBLE POSITION**(DURATION: ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 30, 2024)**: This recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions : The Superior Court of Fulton County Georgia (“Court”) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Jury Assistant within its Jury Services Division. Superior Court is Georgia's busiest trial court of general jurisdiction. The Court seeks to provide a forum in which legal disputes between citizens can be resolved in a fair and efficient process with attention to equal access, impartiality, efficiency, and safety. After joining the Court, you will become part of a fast-paced team dedicated to providing the citizens of Fulton County with the service they deserve. Job Summary: : Perform varied clerical, administrative and support tasks related to Jury Management. Essential Duties: : - Provides support and assists jurors during jury service.
- Process questionnaires and summons.
- Process summons notices and forms.
- Process juror payments and reimbursements.
- Sorts mail, letters and forms. Enters data into the automated Jury Management System.
- Maintains and updates the inbound and outbound juror interactive voice response system for summoned, trial and grand jurors.
- Maintains and updates demographic and other information for summoned and trial jurors.
- Types and prepares juror correspondence, reports and other materials as requested.
- Work with court staff to ensure the smooth operation of jury trials.
- Assists jurors with general questions and inquiries.
Qualifications: : Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: : Requires knowledge of principles and practices of filing and basic records management. General office practices, procedures, equipment, and technology. Requires skill in providing general clerical office support. Using spreadsheets, database, word processing, and other software. Understanding, using and explaining Court Specific computer applications to manage court processes, gather and analyze statistics, and create reports. Delivering high quality, customer-focused service. Building sustainable working relationships with other County personnel, officials, and the public. Communicating effectively with co-workers, supervisor, and the public. Generating enthusiasm and support for program objectives Education and Experience: : High School diploma or GED; or Associates Degree and at least two years of general office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require a valid Georgia driver's license. May require affirmation as a Sworn Deputy of Court. Physical Requirements: : Work is typically performed in an office-like environment. May work in high conflict situations and with difficult, sometimes dangerous parties. Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, standing, mobility, fingering, grasping, driving, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive physical motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Performance Metrics: : Factor 1: Decision-Making : Interpretive: There is choice in determining the tactical plans, processes, budget, and staffing to achieve objectives established by a higher management level. Establishes what is to be done in similar circumstances in the future. Results will be applied by other courts. Factor 2: Complexity : Formative: Evaluates the relevance and importance of theories, concepts, and principles, and tailors them to develop a different approach or tactical plan to fit specific circumstances. Factor 3: Purpose of Contact : Interpret: Purpose is to clarify underlying rationale, intent, motive by educating on unfamiliar concepts and theories or marketing a product or service. Factor 4: Line/Staff Authority : Work Leader: Partially accountable for the work product of others, including timeliness, correctness, and soundness. This indicates, in general, the nature and level of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act) expected of the incumbent.
